What is your turnaround time?
Right now, my turn around time is 6-8 weeks after I receive your milk (and hair if you order a pendant.)
How is it made?
Creating breastmilk jewelry involves a meticulous and careful process to ensure that each piece is both beautiful and durable. Here’s how it’s made:
- Collection: You provide a small amount of your breastmilk, usually around 1-2oz. The milk is shipped to me using the instructions on the How it Works page.
- Preservation: The breastmilk undergoes a special preservation process to ensure it remains stable and retains its unique qualities. This involves removing moisture and adding preservation agents to keep the milk from spoiling.
- Creation: The preserved breastmilk is then combined with a resin to create a solid, durable material. This material is carefully molded into the desired shape and size for the jewelry piece, whether it be a stone for a ring, pendant for a necklace, or charm for a bracelet.
- Design and Setting: Once the breastmilk stone is prepared, it is set into a piece of jewelry. Each setting is made with precision and care, ensuring that the final product is not only beautiful but also secure and long-lasting.
Can I mix inclusions?
Yes you can mix inclusions. For example, you can mix breastmilk with formula powder if you supplemented. Or you can mix ashes with breastmilk. Just make sure that you leave a note for what you want.
Do you send inclusions back?
I will send inclusions back except for breastmilk so please only send the amount needed if you don't want to waste your milk.
How do I take care of the jewelry?
Sterling silver will tarnish if you don't take care of it. Keep your Jewelry as dry as much as possible. Take it off when washing your hands, taking a shower or swimming. Keep it in an airtight bag when it's being stored. Do not wear it if you're doing something that causes you to sweat like at the gym. Avoid contact with harsh chemicals. Use the included microfiber cloth to polish it. I am not responsible for damage to the jewelry due to improper care.
Can I send breastmilk from multiple kids?
Yes, you can. Just make sure to put in the description box that that's what you're sending.
Can I send hair from different kids?
Yes. You can send hair from different kids!
What do you do with leftover milk?
I will throw the leftover milk out. I know you don't want to waste any of your milk so make sure you send just enough to do the pieces.
How much milk do you need?
I usually only need 1 oz, sometimes 2oz depending on the jewelry you choose. That is enough to do a few small pieces.
Can use old or spoiled milk?
Absolutely! It doesn't matter how old your milk is as long as it's been kept in the freezer and isn't moldy.
How do I know you're using my breastmilk?
I understand how important it is to trust the process when it comes to your breastmilk keepsakes. I am very meticulous about keeping orders organized to ensure that the correct milk is used for each piece. As soon as I receive your milk, it is immediately labeled with your name and stored securely until I am ready to complete your order.
Once your milk has been preserved, it remains in a small Ziploc bag, also labeled with your name, ensuring there is no mix-up. I only work on one order at a time as an extra precaution, guaranteeing that your milk is used correctly for your unique piece.
How do I ship my milk to you and how much does it cost?
Please read the shipping instructions page. You'll also get an email with the instructions after you purchase your piece(s).
I don't see any jewelry that I like, can I order something different?
Absolutely! Please reach out to me on the chat or at info@creamandclover.com. I will help you find what you're looking for.
Will the rose gold/gold plating come off?
If you plan to wear your piece frequently or every day, I highly recommend choosing sterling silver or white gold plated jewelry. Gold plating can wear off over time, and I can't guarantee how long it will last—it could be a few months or up to two years. Because of this, I suggest considering rose gold or yellow gold plating only for pieces you plan to wear occasionally.
Will the jewelry tarnish?
All silver jewelry will tarnish over time, but you can prolong it's life by following the care instructions. I will also send you the instructions with your piece(s).
Will the breastmilk stone turn yellow over time?
Because the stone is made with resin, it will eventually turn yellow over time. However, I do put a uv resistant topcoat on each stone to prolong it's life.
Do you offer international shipping?
At this time I am not offering international shipping.
Will my jewelry be the same color of the milk I send?
You milk will go through the preservation process and can sometimes be a different color when done. Sometimes the milk will be translucent. If that happens I will add a tiny bit of brightening to make it appear more white.
